That is exactly where Nanyang Heritage begins.

Inspired by the historic shophouses and urban residences found across Singapore, Malaysia, and other parts of Southeast Asia, this architecture grew from different worlds meeting in the same streets.

European colonial forms arrived in tropical cities.

Local builders adapted them to heat, rain, commerce, and everyday family life.

Over time, the result became something of its own.

Not simply European.

Not simply Asian.

But unmistakably Nanyang.

Yet the most interesting part of this miniature is not the façade.

It is what happens when you open it.

The entire front reveals two furnished levels inside.

Suddenly, what looked like a small architectural object becomes a house you can explore.

A downstairs room.

An upstairs space.

Furniture, windows, walls, and warm light arranged as if everyday life has simply been paused for a moment.

You can illuminate the lower floor.

Then the upper floor.

Or let the whole house glow at once.

And every time the façade opens, the building seems to become larger than it looked from the outside.

Perhaps that is what old houses have always done.

Nanyang Heritage is a miniature made for discovering what architecture keeps inside.

Architecture shaped by two worlds

Nanyang Heritage is a finished miniature architectural décor piece inspired by the historic shophouses and urban residences found throughout Southeast Asia.

These buildings developed during a period when European architectural influences were being adapted to tropical cities such as Singapore, Penang, Malacca, and other trading centers across the region.

Classical façades, decorative plasterwork, tall windows, balconies, and European proportions gradually mixed with local building traditions and the practical needs of tropical life.

The result was not a copy of European architecture.

It became a distinctive regional language of its own.

Nanyang Heritage captures that layered character in miniature — an exterior that carries traces of another era, and an interior that feels lived in rather than ceremonial.

At approximately 14.7 cm (5.8 in) tall, it has a stronger vertical presence than many of our smaller architectural pieces while remaining compact enough for a bookshelf, desk, console, or display cabinet.

Open the façade and discover the house inside

Unlike most of our architectural miniatures, Nanyang Heritage is designed to be opened.

The front section reveals two complete interior levels, each furnished with miniature details and its own lighting.

This changes the way the piece can be enjoyed.

Closed, it reads as an architectural façade.

Opened, it becomes a miniature environment.

You can look through the windows from outside, then open the building and see where those windows lead.

You can explore the relationship between the ground floor and upper level.

You can change the lighting and experience each floor separately.

The architecture becomes something you interact with rather than simply observe.

For collectors who enjoy discovering interiors, arranging displays, photographing miniature scenes, or simply looking closely at how small spaces are put together, this opening structure gives Nanyang Heritage a noticeably different character from a conventional fixed model.

The beauty of an unfamiliar building

Part of the appeal of Nanyang Heritage is that it may not immediately fit into a familiar architectural category.

That unfamiliarity is intentional.

Its windows, balconies, decorative façade, proportions, and interior details carry traces of different cultures and different periods.

It feels slightly European from one angle.

Distinctly Southeast Asian from another.

Look closer, and the boundaries become less important.

What remains is simply a house shaped by history, climate, movement, and the people who lived around it.

Sometimes the most interesting architecture is the kind you did not already know you loved.

Individually made and finished by hand

Each Nanyang Heritage is created in resin through 3D printing, then individually hand-painted and hand-finished.

The façade, windows, balconies, furniture, interior surfaces, and smaller decorative elements are finished piece by piece.

Because of this process, slight variations in color, paint application, surface texture, and fine decorative details may occur.

These differences are a natural part of hand-finished production and give each piece its own subtle character rather than the perfectly uniform appearance of a purely mass-produced object.

Three ways to light the interior

Lighting is designed to be part of the experience rather than simply an on-or-off feature.

Nanyang Heritage includes three selectable warm lighting modes:

• Upper level illuminated

• Lower level illuminated

• Both levels illuminated together

This allows you to change the mood of the house and draw attention to different parts of the interior.

Light only the lower floor and the house feels occupied downstairs.

Illuminate the upper level and attention shifts toward the rooms above.

Turn on both floors and the entire building comes alive.

The lighting is controlled by touch and powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, allowing the miniature to remain on display without a permanent cable beside it.

Charging is through a USB-C port.

Charging cable is not included.
